MONROE, La.Ìý–ÌýDue to continuedÌýpower outages and ongoing weather-related uncertainties, the University of Louisiana Monroe willÌýremain closed through Tuesday, February 3.ÌýÌýÌý

University officials will continue toÌýmonitorÌýconditions and work closely with local utility providers and emergency officials. A full assessment of the potential damage to campus resources must also be made once power is fully restored.ÌýÌýAt this time, the UniversityÌýanticipatesÌýreopening on Wednesday, February 4; however, a final determination will be madeÌýat a later dateÌýand communicated through official channels.Ìý

As communicated previously, no assignments, exams, or projects will be due during the closure.Ìý

Faculty and staff should work with their immediate supervisors as to whether they need to report to campus.Ìý

TheÌý»»ÆÞÉçÇø Activity CenterÌýwill remain open 24 hours a dayÌýduring the closure to provide warm shelter, restrooms, and charging capabilities for studentsÌýremainingÌýon campus. Residence hallsÌýremainÌýopen for students currently on campus.Ìý

Schulze CafeteriaÌýwill continue to be fully operational, providing mealsÌýdaily from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.ÌýÌý

Icy conditions and weather impacts may continue to make travel hazardous.Ìý»»ÆÞÉçÇø students, faculty, and staff are strongly encouraged toÌýavoid travel unless absolutely necessaryÌýand to exercise extreme caution if travel is unavoidable.ÌýPlease visitÌý511la.orgÌýfor current road conditions and travel advisories before planning travel.Ìý
